Reel-n-real

Its common to notice tabloids filling up a few of their pages with news, different from what we perceived news to be. Probably that’s why they are for! Everyone wants to know what a celebrity does in his/her personal life; where he dines, where she holidays, whom she roams with, what he wore, blah, blah. And what better source than the small newspaper-like things which carry all the gossip!

Give them some air! They too are human beings right? OK! If they really want to be noticed and be the talk of the (Tinsel) Town, let the matter be so. What will happen if it is a matter of intrusion of privacy? Just imagine that you are in their shoes and are spending time with your friends/loved ones in a posh restaurant. In the news next day, the matter would be present, of course, with a pinch of salt! ๐Ÿ˜› .

The brighter side of the drama is, people will be enjoying their Right To Information (RTI). There might be a new ground-breaking story (or rumour) of someone famous, as an alternative for Saas-Bahu serials, worse, as a filler between any two ๐Ÿ˜€ . Crazy and devoted fans will be delighted to hear what their idol(s)/heartthrob(s)/dream girl-heroine(s) are doing! And if luck permits, be a part of the campaign and be noticed too.

The sadder side, i feel, is the shrinking private space of a few people, whose mistake was becoming famous! I wonder if there can be secure times in future if flying nanobots like those mentioned in Dan Brown’s science fiction book-Deception Point, come into existence. (Correct me if they already exist!) It would be a blasphemy if i were a celebrity and was found to be using a not-so-costly underwear!

I too am a subscriber of a tabloid, and by just being one if I’m labelled a hypocrite, then lemme throw light on a clarification; I subscribe it for the inclusion of topics and pictures related to glam quotient, and for the sake of reading something apart from mainstream news.

I would like to give a situation to my fellow bloggers. Imagine you are an established celebrity going by your personalised trademark. Please suggest ways to curb the invasion of private space by the dickheads carrying sophisticated video cameras on their shoulders, coupled with colleagues who can sting with their tongue by hurling questions like an AK47.

  1. well mate… nice 1….
    hmmm… i’d suggest, u walk away with full flamboyant atti..(perfect bollywood ishtyle)…
the nxt tim, they wont take the trouble of troublin u ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Privacy is a price each celebrity has to pay for stardom!!! It was this intrusion only which led to Diana’s death. I guess the media needs to draw some lines.
I can think of no suggestion at all!!

  3. Media should be controlled by an agency and they should be allowed to pass only that information to the population which is passed by the agency.
This way, we would be spared all the nonsense and live our life in peace.

  4. If you want to be a celebrity, then this is the price you pay, no matter you want to or not.

And I have many suggestions but most of them will give you fame like Salman Khan ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Hmmmmm

    very true…

but this was from early days i gues… the only thing is that nw we have means to expose it, thats human nature to know whats is going on in others life… irrspective of whther it is a star or actor…

hw even a a man below poverty line cud be in news coz of some problem… or coz of his 3 yr old boy is in deep hole ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. can’t think of any suggestion but i liked the line

*It would be a blasphemy if i were a celebrity and was found to be using a not-so-costly underwear!*

    ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. I think its all in the package. Once you get famous, your privacy is invariably attacked. People would want to know what you think, what you do, and what you wear!

The RTI is only for information about the working of the govt. and govt. officials. Not individuals. (Thankfully! ๐Ÿ˜› )

The nanobots cannot be helped. Lol! Becoming famous will be dreaded then! ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. The Word “press” gives them too much power..
they can enter anyway where ,ask anything and even make ppl believe anything ..
i guess something should be done to control them..
celebrity is called arrogant if he refuses to answer anything. .
how would they feel if something about their personal life is being discussed so much in public..
dickheads carrying sophisticated video cameras on their shoulders, coupled with colleagues who can sting with their tongue by hurling questions like an AK47.

    LOL

  9. Oooooh!!
I read somewhere that Britney Spears bought spiderman underwear!!
I also read that Angelina Jolie doesn’t wash her face in the morning, but washes it just before hjaving breakfast!! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Sheesh! pathetic… ๐Ÿ˜€
It’s a spit in the face of journalism!

  10. I pity all celebrities for not having a bit of privacy….watever they do becomes a big news…then all gossips bout that…blah blah….inspite of all these a common man always wants to b a celebrity…cant help…MONEY MATTERS MOST FOR SOME PEOPLE RI8!!!!

  11. I guess there is no way that a celebrity escape from doing something new .
i’ve heard that after god only dust was the thing that was omnipresent. now i have to change my opinion . even journalists are!!!!!!;)

  12. At last! A new post! ๐Ÿ™‚ Good to have you posting again. But I found this post Very boring. I am sorry. But I guess over-expectation is bad. Peace dude! No offense meant.

  13. At the end of it, it is you who wear the underwear and not the readers. So it doesn’t quite matter if you are saving for a rainy day, or just proving a point that brand consciousness is only a fad. It’s all a part and parcel of being a celeb. I might just chose to live in my own cocoon without bothering about what good, bad or ugly is being said about me. You can’t control your surroundings.

  14. Thats the price u gotta pay. If its huge money involved whats the hitch… Isn’t the so-called sensible Aamir Khan resorted to same stuff by agreeing to act in that super silly Tata Sky AD.. Its all about money.. If I am a celeb I won’t mind these people. In fact, its celebs who unnecessarily create the chaos. If they agree to pose and answer questions more honestly, things would be fine. I do not blame media all the time. Neither do I appreciate them reporting craps like which celeb did what and wear what!

  15. No suggestions but yes after reading ur post all I can say is “exactly my feelings”

And like u I too have subscribed to one and I read them & keep cursing them. In their haste to provide news/ gossip they don’t even check how correct the news is.

Gossips take center stage and important news gets lost ๐Ÿ˜€
